Husband and wife

Jeannie and Brian wed in the afternoon of May 23, 2004 in a lovely ceremony and fun reception which ended around 10 pm. Many of us had early morning flights the next day, including mine at 6:45, so 17 of the guests stayed up all night dancing, followed by a 3 am breakfast, before heading to the airport and back to New York, Chicago, and everywhere else.

I've only posted about half the pictures here (the ones that, in my estimation, came out best); you can also see the rest of the images for the wedding, the reception, and the afterparty.

Rice

Architecturally, Rice University reminds me a lot of Stanford - southwestern style stucco buildings with the red wavy tile roofs, arched arcades, and the large courtyards that are possible only when building a university on a large, empty plot of land. But the signs warning against unlicensed firearms and the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Polity are just a few of the reminders that Texas is very different from California.

A whole 'nother part of America

Fifty to a hundred Jews, Harvard grads, and other people you'd be much more likely to find in New York City (and for many of them, regularly can) descended upon Houston last weekend, for the wedding of seven-year couple and dear friends Jeannie Lang and Brian Rosenthal. I have tons of pictures still to post; for this first installment, a few sights from around Houston as Justin Krebs and I got a little tour of the suburban southwest from a native including the best BBQ I've ever had.
