Silicon Valley @ Ground Zero

I know New Yorkers love their Macs and iPods, but the flattery goes too far when we start making downtown look like Silicon Valley. I used to live there. I don't anymore. I'd like to keep it that way.

Rice

Architecturally, Rice University reminds me a lot of Stanford - southwestern style stucco buildings with the red wavy tile roofs, arched arcades, and the large courtyards that are possible only when building a university on a large, empty plot of land. But the signs warning against unlicensed firearms and the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Polity are just a few of the reminders that Texas is very different from California.
